Products purchased at Dermatology & Laser Center of Charleston are not eligible for returns, exchanges or refunds. However, if a product causes an allergic reaction and is documented by a provider, you may return the product within 30 days of purchase.

Appointment Reminder Policy
Patients are to receive an automated phone call reminder to the number given and an email reminder to the email address provided approximately 2 days prior to your scheduled appointment. At this time you will be able to confirm or cancel your appointment through either outlet.
You may also receive confirmation via text message if preferred. To receive these messages, text the word NOTIFY to 37509*. To stop this correspondence at any time simply text the word STOP to 37509*. (*Standard text message rates apply.)
We ask that you please understand that our appointment times are scheduled to allow us to take care of each individual patient’s needs during their scheduled visit. Appointments with Dr. Schlesinger and the provider staff are in high demand, so we place a high value on advance notice from our patients who are unable to keep their scheduled appointments. We ask that you please provide 48 hours notice if you are not going to be able to keep your appointment. In addition, patients need to arrive on time for their scheduled appointments. If necessary, if a patient arrives greater than fifteen minutes late, there is higher probability that the scheduled appointment will have to be made on an alternative day.
In an effort to eliminate and decrease unnecessary expenditures and to contain our fees, we have implemented a No Show/Cancellation Policy for all of our patients, medical, surgical and cosmetic. Please be advised that you are allowed one no-show or same day cancellation appointment without penalty. It is referred to as your “Oops Appointment” because we are understanding and try to accommodate unexpected events. We will gladly reschedule this appointment without any charge. On your second no-show or same day cancellation, you will be charged a $25.00 fee that must be paid prior to making additional appointments. Upon your third no-show or same day cancellation, we unfortunately reserve the right to terminate the patient-doctor relationship.
Please be assured that Dr. Schlesinger and the staff of Dermatology and Laser Center of Charleston strive to run our office as efficiently as possible. It is always our primary mission to provide you with the best care; and that this policy is in place to help us achieve that goal. Your understanding and cooperation in this matter is greatly appreciated.
Cosmetic and MediSpa Cancellation Policy
We offer complimentary cosmetic consultations for all patients interested in MediSpa or Cosmetic services. If you choose to cancel your consultation appointment, we ask that you please contact us at least 48 hours prior to your scheduled appointment time so that we may make the best use of our time to serve the needs of all patients. Cancellation within the 48 hour time frame or a No Show will result in a $75 re-booking fee should you wish to reschedule your complimentary cosmetic consultation. While non-refundable, this $75 fee can be applied towards any service or product you choose to move forward with after your consultation.
Cancellations of MediSpa or Cosmetic appointments which take place within the 48 hour time period will result in a 25% loss of your deposit. A No Show for a Cosmetic or MediSpa treatment appointment will result in a loss of full deposit.
Should you leave a message with our after-hours answering service, please make certain your cancellation is verified with one of our schedulers. You can do so by contacting the office during regular business hours or via email at email@example.com.
What to Expect When You Arrive At Your Appointment
Thank you for choosing Dermatology & Laser Center of Charleston to meet all of your skin care needs. We would like to take this opportunity to welcome you as a new patient and to give you information regarding your upcoming appointment. We pride ourselves in bringing the best of the medical and cosmetic worlds together.
Prior to your appointment, we will send you an e-mail with a link and security code that leads you to a Patient Portal. Please follow the prompts and complete the new patient paperwork in order to ensure that we have all your correct information. Should you not have access to a computer, please arrive 30 minutes prior to your scheduled time in order to complete the new patient paperwork. For your protection against identity fraud, we will take a photo of you upon arrival and it will be attached to your electronic medical record (EMR). Dermatology & Laser Center of Charleston records your information during your examination and attaches it directly to your customized, individual EMR. No paper charts exist at our office for daily use. If necessary, we can generate a copy of your records if you need them and ensure that HIPAA guidelines for obtaining them are met. Our office prides ourselves in setting the standard for HIPAA compliance.
All patients need to bring a copy of your insurance card, identification and a list of current medications.
We are dedicated to providing the highest level of care to each patient. Occasionally, you may experience a minimal wait-time on your appointment day. We offer reading materials, informational videos and wi-fi in our reception area.
If you have a time-sensitive schedule, please call ahead to check the daily clinic scheduling flow. Every member of our staff strives to ensure an easy patient flow however we ask that you do remember in our medical and surgical practice emergencies do arise. Due diligence is always taken into consideration and we want to guarantee a productive and pleasant experience. Should you feel that there is an unnecessary delay or longer wait time than you feel reasonable, please ask to speak to our practice manager.

Appointment for a Minor
In an effort to serve all of our patients to the best of our ability, the staff at DLCC asks that patients who are minors be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian during their first appointment. If the parent or legal guardian would like the minor to be seen unattended for any additional appointments, we have a consent form that the parent or legal guardian can sign.
