The Dysport™ Details

Have you heard someone mention Dysport™ on tv (RHOBH) or read about it in a magazine, but aren’t exactly sure what it is or how it works? Take a minute to read through the basics on this botulinum toxin and how it differs from the crowd.

What is Dysport™? Utilizing refined botulinum toxin to relax tense facial muscles, Dysport™ quickly eliminates forehead wrinkles, under eye wrinkles and crow’s feet—for a younger-looking, more revitalized facial appearance.

Is Dysport™ FDA approved? Dysport™ was approved by the FDA in April, 2009 and the first injections were performed in the United States in June, 2009. DLCC was among the first Centers in the United States to perform non-study related Dysport™ treatments.

When do I see results?  Some studies have indicated that persons treated with Dysport™ may see results in as little as 24 hours as compared with 3-10 days for BOTOX® Cosmetic.

How long does Dysport™ last?  Dysport™ injections are temporary, with results estimated to last anywhere from 3-6 months.

What’s the difference in Dysport™ and BOTOX® Cosmetic? While both temporarily modify the action of facial muscles, smooth out undesirable lines between the brows, across the forehead or crow’s feet to restore a more youthful, less stressed appearance, the two have very distinct dosing differences and are thus non-interchangeable. Dysport™ can also diffuse more widely, therefore offering a more complete and natural result.
