Skin Solutions for Allergy Season
Allergy season is upon us and while it can make your eyes water, nose run and head pound, allergies can also leave their marks on your face. Luckily, we have a few skin solutions for you to help combat the signs of this allergy season!
- Puffiness: Combat a puffy face or under eye area with hydration! Puffiness is generally caused by dehydrated blood vessels, so hydration is key. Be sure to stay hydrated throughout the day, but also try to rehydrate first thing in the morning when you wake up as well. A cold compress can also help reduce puffiness.
- Red, swollen eyes: Gently massage the area to help release excess fluids. A light, cool compress and a soothing eye cream can work wonders to address this issue.
- Blotchy Redness: Remember that green balances red on the color wheel so look for a concealor with a green hue if your notice your face getting red or blotchy during allergy season.
Those living with sensitive skin issues such as rosacea, psoriasis or eczema may notice an increase in redness or itching during peak allergy season. Warmer weather also leads us outdoors with increased potential to come into contact with poison ivy or oak. Keep watch over your skin for any type of reaction and be patient with normal allergy symptoms.
